Fairfax County Police Plan Two More Drunk Driving Checkpoints This Week
Fairfax County Police notified the public in their weekend crime report that they will be conducting two more drunk driving checkpoints this week.
Last week, Fairfax County Police staged drunk driving checkpoints in Falls Church and Seven Corners. It is unclear at this point whether those checkpoints led to any arrests.
Officers plan to set up two more drunk driving checkpoints this week on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. On Wednesday, officers will be pulling cars over in somewhere in the Mason District from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. the following morning.
Police will be back at work on Saturday evening and staging a sobriety checkpoint in the Reston area, also from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
The department has not announced specifically where the checkpoints will be.
If you are going to throw a few back, please don’t get behind the wheel. With ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft, there’s no longer any excuse to get behind the wheel drunk. A $10 Uber ride will always be cheaper than a DUI.
